"FREEDOM TO MOVE" at Northeast Elementary School focuses on the human right to migrate and to seek asylum, as enshrined in articles 13 and 14 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.

Every year, millions of people must flee and migrate due to state violence and climate crisis, from issues ranging from trafficking, war and occupation, to poverty and displacement. Many of these people face persecution, migrant detention, abuse and deportation. This piece calls for a world where humans too, have the freedom to move, and honors the many indigenous, refugee, and migrant communities, children and families, in Ithaca and beyond, who strive to be free.
